If you like military books and movies especially those based on true stories, this is a must read. It's an excellent account of the botched up operations in Afghanistan that shows the good and the ugly of U.S. military operational execution. It tells the story of true American military heros who against all odds successed in a mission poorly prepared for by the senior brass in our military but of the awesome guys on the ground and air who once again overcame poor Pentagon leadership. The author obviously did a LOT of research but unfortunately, like some of Clancy's books, goes into WAY too much detail and I often found myself skipping over paragraphs to get to the meat of the story. If not for this, I would have easily given it 5-stars. This books helps those of us who have never served in our military to better understand and appreciate what our fellow American brothers in uniform do and give for our great country.Get more detail about Not A Good Day To Die: The Untold Story Of Operation Anaconda.
