As someone who has followed Judt's work, I found this a well-written condensation of his thoughts about the fate of liberal democracy in the West, and in the USA especially. He says he has aimed it for the young; but concise as it is, it is an ideal introduction for anyone seeking an introduction to this great man's thinking.
