Order Faceless Killers: A Kurt Wallander Mystery (Kurt Wallander Mysteries)

This was a very quick read, but a deeply satisfying one as well. Set against the backdrop of a basic murder mystery in the Swedish countryside, our crepuscular protagonist, Kurt Wallander, self-medicates his bouts of loneliness, familial decay and recurring diarrhea with endless cups of lukewarm coffee. Wallander's lack of sexiness is reinforced by the tersely related plot-points and blasted, subarctic conditions in which the drama unfolds. Look for extraordinary scenes of derring-do and cinematic displays of violence elsewhere; also, don't expect the entrance of every female character to be accompanies by clichéd anatomical metaphors. In short, this is old school noir pared down to the essentials.Get more detail about Faceless Killers: A Kurt Wallander Mystery (Kurt Wallander Mysteries).
